The Portwest FP41 10m Retractable Fall Arrest Block is a retractable fall arrest block that can be slowly retracted or extracted in case a worker falls. Designed to be used as part of a fall arrest system, this fully certified and steel based arrest block can promise to keep you safe when working at height and in the event of a fall.

The Portwest Fall Arrest Block is suitable for use as part of a fall arrest system. When connected to a safety harness, this will allow you to safety work from height, as should you fall, the fall arrest system will be able to take your weight.

A Fall Arrest system will not stop you from falling. It is instead a system that ensures a fall is carried out in a safe and controlled manner. This enables workers to carry out jobs, while a body harness is connected to a suitable shock absorbing system. This will not prevent free fall. You will still fall, however be caught by a fall arrest block, rope, a lanyard and your harness. Training MUST be provided, and an escape plan MUST be in place before an accident takes place.

The FP41 Fall Arrest Block comprises of a 4.8mm wire rope and is stored on a reel within a protective ABS plastic shell. This retractable lifeline is spring-based, meaning that once activated it will reel the user back in. Due to the inertia brake mechanism, you can extract and retract the lifeline slowly to accommodate the users movements
