Product information

This 6M Retractable Fall Arrest comprises of a retractable lifeline made of wire rope which is stored on a reel, within a protective housing. The reel is spring based to wind the retractable lifeline in and incorporates an inertia brake mechanism, which allows the lifeline to be slowly extracted and automatically retracted to accommodate the users body movements. It also comprises of a swivel snap hook with a double safety lock and fall indicator.

Fall Arrest Blocks

The Portwest collection of Automatic fall arrest blocks are designed to be used with all Portwest harnesses and connectors. In the event of a fall, automatic fall arrest blocks will lock and stop your fall after a short distance.

A Fall Arrest system will not stop you from falling from height. It is instead a system that ensures a fall is carried out in a safe and controlled manner. This enables a worker to carry out their job, while a body harness is connected to a suitable shock absorbing system.

This will not prevent free fall. You will still fall, however be caught by a fall arrest block, rope, a lanyard and your harness. Training MUST be provided, and an escape plan MUST be in place before an accident takes place.

Height Safety

Height Safety is put in place to prevent the risks associated with falling from heights, reducing impact force, restricting obstacle/ground collision and restricting users from fall hazard areas whilst working at height.

The Portwest Fall Arrest Block is a highly reliable fall arrest block that is designed using a steel rope. This means that the product is extremely strong, being able to hold plenty of wait. If that’s not enough, the arrest block is fully certified to EN 362 and EN 360.
